Certifications

The environment is a conditioning factor for life, people and society in general. Therefore, living in a clean environment is not a privilege, it is a right that Ostimar S.A. knows and respects. As a company dedicated to the aquaculture, we are committed to the continuous improvement of Environmental Management for the protection of its environment in the context of our activity, in an articulated way with the processes and areas that make up the marine farming of the Northern Scallop in compliance with current regulations, with a view to preventing and mitigating possible environmental impacts and promoting the search for developments that allow us to be a responsible and sustainable productive activity. Endorsing the above, Ostimar S.A. certified the chain of custody of its processed and I.Q.F. frozen raw scallop roe on, in 2022 and was recertified under the private standard Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) in 2023. Therefore, between March and May of this year, the respective second and first maintenance audits of both certifications were undergone.

To be recognized in the world scallop industry, as a supplier that consistently supplies its customers with products of the highest quality, the result of a careful farming process in the Chilean Pacific Ocean, respecting the environment and with a strong social commitment, creating value for our customers.


The excellence of our processes is based on the work of a first-class human group and on the permanent application of continuous improvement. To achieve the above objectives, Ostimar S.A. established the following policies: To orient the company towards the satisfaction of the needs of our customers, creating instances of fluid communication of interrelation. Design the necessary procedures to ensure that Ostimar presents the necessary flexibility for continuous improvement in its management. Enhance our Human Resources, implementing and disseminating Human Capital policies. Research and develop techniques that allow achieving sustainable competitive advantages over time, in a responsible manner with the environment and the social environment

Finally, within the framework of the execution of the annual maintenance audits, the entire community may submit complaints, objections, comments and/or submissions of additional information to Acoura Marine Ltd. t/to LRQA, either during the public comment period or later during the validity of the certificate. This can be done via the Lloyd's Register website (www.acoura.com), by email (asc-ca@lr.org) or by post (Aquaculture Team, Lloyd's Register, 6 Redheughs Rigg, Edinburgh, UK). For complaints, please refer to the Lloyd's Register (www.acoura.com) website for the complaints procedure within the Lloyd's Register Certification Regulations document. For other objections, comments or submissions, these will be forwarded to the Chief Auditor and the Director of Aquaculture for consideration and decision on any necessary action. Complaints can also be submitted directly to the ASC at certification@asc-aqua.org, PO Box 19107, 3501 DC Utrecht, The Netherlands or NHK Utrecht Centraal, Arthur van Schendelstraat 650, 3511 MJ Utrecht, The Netherlands. ASI's dispute mechanism can be found on its website (www.asiassurance.org/) which includes information on handling incidents, grievances, and appeals.
